A heavy gunner built to take punishment
The Boomer’s huge body and heavy weapon distinguish it from the smaller Drone infantry. E-Day pairs this more formidable enemy with an early, oversized Boomshot: heavy ordnance from the opening days of the Locust War.[2]
Heavy weapons slow movement while still allowing most movement actions. Players can also rip heavy guns from turret installations. This makes heavy firepower part of the wider arsenal as well as a threat carried by the Locust.[2]
How to chainsaw a Boomer
- Equip the Prototype Chainsaw Lancer.
- Damage the Boomer until its health is low.
- Close in and use your chainsaw action to finish it.[2]
Choosing the moment to move in
Horde’s difficulty settings and Poisons can make enemies tougher. Coordinate fire with your squad to weaken a Boomer, then take the execution opportunity when the fight allows it. A clear route matters as much as having the correct weapon equipped.[2][4]
The Lancer comparison helps you identify the chainsaw model. For the rest of the enemy roster, see the Locust field guide.[2]
