A city before it becomes a battlefield

The campaign stays with Kalona through the opening invasion rather than turning the whole planet into a travel itinerary. The developers describe the city through ordinary peacetime details: veterans returning home, recruitment messaging, shops and older television technology. Those details give the destruction a human scale.[3][4]

An official campaign image shows emergency broadcasts filling a shop’s televisions. The familiar interior makes the invasion visible through civilian life.[2]

Campaign spaces and districts

The city includes an industrial waterfront, refineries and surrounding housing, a stadium and an airfield. Its coastal setting draws on the developers’ experience of Vancouver. The Coalition explicitly describes the campaign as not open world, even though Kalona is designed to feel like a connected city.[3]

August 2026 campaign preview

This is the preview’s route through part of Act 2, not a complete campaign itinerary. It puts recognizable civic spaces to different uses as the city responds to the invasion.[3][5]

The historic Golden Quarter is also identified as a Horde Siege battleground in the multiplayer reveal. The image at the top of this page comes from that material. It illustrates the district’s architecture, not a claim that the campaign follows the same mission route.[1]

The same setting, different map functions

Cargo containers and industrial platforms on the Battleship Versus map
Battleship is a Versus map built around a warship under deconstruction and its docks. The image identifies the competitive map, rather than a campaign route through the city.[1]

The Versus locations span a military outpost, a ship and docks, a coastal park, the police department, a seaside market and connected rooftops. That variety helps explain the different fighting spaces. It does not reveal their exact distances or compass positions within Kalona.[1]

Is there an official city map?

August 2026 campaign preview

Yes, the August preview describes a tourist pamphlet becoming the squad’s in-game map. It is an improvised civilian guide, consistent with soldiers finding their way through a crisis. That establishes a campaign navigation tool; it does not make promotional screenshots a complete geographic reference.[5]

Not established in reviewed sources

Can I use these screenshots to navigate between districts?

Not reliably. The reviewed promotional material does not establish how every campaign space connects to every multiplayer map. Use the in-game map for the campaign; the screenshots here identify specific scenes and modes rather than compass positions or travel distances.[1][5]

Reading the evidence

For the multiplayer objectives that take place in these spaces, use the Horde Siege mission guide or the Versus mode comparison.
